January 2-19, 2010: Geologic Evolution of the Hawaiian Islands

Professors Germanoski and Malinconico and twenty four students are currently in Hawaii experiencing the geologic processes that created these islands.  The group is visiting Maui, Oahu and Hawaii, to see current and past volcanic eruptions that created the islands, and view the erosive forces that have  shaped the islands.   Pictures are below.  Please visit the http://sites.lafayette.edu/geol150-w10/ for more pictures from the trip.
